Lake Wapanocca Paddle 8/10/2024

Ben Quaintance was the Trip Initiator for this Meetup paddle.  The group consisted of 5 paddlers:  Ben and Pam (who paddled in Ben’s canoe), Scott and Brenda Merritt and Mary Finley in individual kayaks.

The put-in was Saturday, August 10, around 10:15 AM and the paddle lasted until around 2:15 PM. The lilies were in full bloom and the lilies pads were 2’in diameter. 

It was impressive to see Brenda paddling with a taped up left index finger, which was injured in the knife sharpening accident.  She was a trooper during the paddle and will be more careful in the future.  

The group enjoyed a relatively quick paddle and as usual, the head wind increased around noon which would make any paddler work harder. Thankfully, by that time, we were not in the open waters but in the forest and only had to deal with the wind when we were heading to the takeout.

The weather was really nice and not too hot.  We all enjoyed the paddle.
